Stop Smoking

For those who have decided that enough is enough and it's time to stop smoking, I offer several options, all with a high success rate.

The first two ways require face-to-face coaching at my office in Minehead:

First is a series of coaching sessions - as many as you need to stop smoking and be confident in staying stopped. Six meetings usually does it; really tough cases can take longer, but we get there in the end. Each session lasts around an hour and costs £39. You receive a typed copy of the notes from each session, plus written instructions for all the exercises - everything necessary for you to do your homework and take charge of your own learning-process.

Second is the intensive stop-smoking special: a single two-and-a-half hour session including NLP coaching and, if you like, the option of clinical hypnosis. It costs £139. Most people stop with just this one session; the few who backslide can come back for follow-up sessions at no further cost.

The third alternative is not limited by location. A self-help programme, with or without telephone support, it's suitable for anyone who would enjoy reading, thinking about, and experimenting with the concepts and exercises in a comprehensive workbook. This method is especially appealing to people who prefer to do things in their own way and at their own pace.

All these methods are effective in helping you to stop smoking - and stay stopped. They all provide you with strategies for resolving the inner conflicts that so often undermine efforts to stop. Unlike some other programmes, they don't involve stoking up the guilt and punishing yourself! Instead, they encourage you to acknowledge the positive intentions of the part of yourself that wants you to smoke - maybe to help you to relax, or cope with stress, or find some space, or even simply because you enjoy it, dammit! There are always positive intentions, however hidden they may be, or you wouldn't be doing it. Then you can find other, better ways to honour those positive intentions. It's when you don't find other ways to meet those requirements that you have difficulties - and weeks, months, even years later, the old desire to smoke resurfaces.
